Medical & Biohazardous Waste Disposal in Illinois

Close to 13 million people call Illinois home according to the US Census Bureau. The Midwestern state, famous for Chicago hot dogs, deep dish pizza, and the only river in the world that flows backwards, is nestled between Wisconsin, Indiana, and the Mississippi River. It is also where we, Daniels Health, call home.

Due to its huge rural land mass, more than 80% of Illinois’ residents live in its cities, making the state a bustling and multicultural center for business and travel. Along with agriculture, education and manufacturing, the Land of Lincoln also houses a strong emerging healthcare presence and boasts some of the best health care services in the Midwest with hospitals such as Northwestern Memorial, University of Illinois-Chicago, Advocate Trinity Hospital and Rush University medical center.

This is where we come in... trusted experts in delivering sharps and medical waste disposal solutions for US healthcare. Medical waste is broadly defined as any solid waste that is generated in the diagnosis, treatment, or immunization of a human. Medical waste can be identified by one of four different categories: infectious, hazardous, radioactive, and general. In the state of Illinois, PIMW (Potentially Infected Medical Waste) is banned from entering landfills. The Federal Government, State and its local environmental authorities have enforced strict regulations in regards to how this waste is managed and treated.

Daniels Health has a myriad of solutions,

for hospitals, clinical laboratories, nursing homes, aged care facilities, veterinary clinics, dental surgeries, universities, research facilities and pharmaceutical laboratories in Chicago, Rockford, Joliet and across the state of Illinois which drive safety, compliance and ease in medical and biohazardous waste disposal. Daniels Health works in tandem with your staff designing a medical and biohazardous waste management plan tailored to your unique business needs while ensuring complete compliance in Illinois. Daniels Health's customizable solutions for medical waste disposal include:

In Illinois, the responsibility rests on the waste generator for the safe handling and final disposal of its medical waste, therefore it is critical for healthcare facilities to engage a medical waste partner that has full ownership and insurances of the complete waste journey, and is not simply a broker.
