When a cardboard box for medical waste just won’t cut it in a beautiful patient environment!
When we sought to change the way medical waste was managed in the United States, we started with ‘would we place a cardboard box full of waste in our home environment’. The answer was no, so why would this be acceptable for a patient room? Across all 50 states, Daniels provides the safest, most secure, and most clinically advanced sharps, pharmaceutical, and medical waste containers for healthcare facilities, combatting issues commonly associated with medical waste disposal including medication theft, leaking, needlestick injuries and cross-contamination.
Is the “Daniels Difference” just a clever marketing phrase?
“Different” is often subjective – a different perspective, a different approach, a different focus, vision or personal preference. For us at Daniels Health, DIFFERENCE embodies all these things, but it also delivers a very different result. Reduction in needlestick injuries, reduction in waste volumes, reduction in costs, reduction in labor, increase in efficiencies, compliance, trust. We don’t promise a different methodology, we promise transformation of your current practices.
Sharpsmart. World Leading Sharps Safety Technology
Peer reviewed in four independent studies, clinically proven to reduce needlestick Injuries by up to 87%, and relied on by healthcare facilities around the world, the Sharpsmart system is driven by a single objective – To Save Lives. Designed with 13 safety features, manufactured with needle-impenetrable plastic, a gravity-balanced safety tray for risk-free sharps disposal, and a built-in overfill protection mechanism, the Daniels Sharpsmart is the most advanced sharps container system in the world.
Driving change through Education
Daniels employs a blended learning approach to education that accommodates multiple learning styles. Versatile and intuitive, our education platforms serve not only to impart knowledge but also to inspire conscious and actionable disciplines in day-to-day practices. Through education posters, one-on-one training, e-learning modules, and group education, we impart our expertise in healthcare waste management to help you reduce your costs and minimize environmental impact.
Be Sustainable, Choose Reusable
99.6% reduction in the amount of plastic landfilled per annum
Upon converting from reusable containers to the Sharpsmart reusable system, one hospital achieved a 28% waste reduction and 84% reduction in carbon emissions across their 103 facilities, achieving a total waste reduction of 3.9 tons of plastic and cardboard waste per 100 beds per annum. Furthermore, a 51% reduction in container exchange labor was achieved by the installationc of larger Sharpsmart containers that were more suitable to volume requirements.
Daniels Service “Can’t be Beat”
The program has been extremely successful by reducing our needlestick injuries by 50% and Daniels’ service capability can’t be beat. We are a two-hospital system and have enjoyed our decision and success, and will continue to use Daniels Health.

We take pride in improving our environmental footprint; this is one of the reasons we selected Daniels Health for medical waste removal services. Daniels technology reduces our waste footprint and needlestick injuries. Our working relationship with Daniels has been simple, reliable and easy for the hospital.
