USP <800> waste containers and services that protect frontline healthcare workers
From oncology centers to hospitals, our partnership delivers:
Nurse locates the hands-free Daniels USP800 waste containment system for use within their department. A Hands-free system is key to eliminating risk of cross contamination when it is time to remove PPE exposed to hazardous drug administration (Including gloves, bunny suits/gowns, masks, foot covers, etc). In circumstances where injections are being made with USP 800 classified drugs, Daniels Health CT64 + CT22 solution is the perfect point-of-use combination for sharps and soft waste. All PPE should be disposed of in the open-lidded CT64 container, and all sharps with trace amount of material can be disposed of in the safety-tray-restricted CT22 container.
The system is moved to the outside of the patient’s room by nurse prior to delivering the hazardous medication to the patient
Positioning details:
A. If isolation is required, it must be contained inside the patient room.
B. In all other cases, the container is to be positioned outside the patient room or patient care area. The nurse can now administer the hazardous medication.
After Hazardous Medications have been administered to patient, a nurse will remove the PPE and place it inside the CT64 container for collection. This action must be performed hands-free to eliminate potential cross-contamination of clean areas and control medication trace residues
Once PPE has been removed, the Nurse can place the USP800 system back into the holding location until the next use is required. If in isolation the USP800 system will need to be subjected to the internal protocols of equipment disinfection. It would be no different from any other decontamination processes taking place within the patient room.
